We regret to inform you that, due to the devastating earthquakes that have affected Venezuela in recent days and the severe damage caused to essential infrastructure, including the country’s international airport, which remains closed with no expected reopening date, the concert scheduled for Tuesday, 7th July with the Sinfónica Nacional Juvenil de Venezuela conducted by Gustavo Dudamel has been postponed to a new date yet to be determined.

Programme

Dmitri Shostakovich Symphony No. 7 in C Major, Op. 60, “Leningrad”

Founded in 1975 in Venezuela by the musician and economist José Antonio Abreu, El Sistema is the largest social and musical organization in the world. Based on innovation and the collective practice of music, it promotes artistic excellence and has created a global network of orchestras and choirs.

Over the years, Gustavo Dudamel has conducted various ensembles from El Sistema on different tours around the world. On this occasion, we will see him leading the Sinfónica Nacional Juvenil de Venezuela.

We will be able to listen to Shostakovich's well-known Leningrad Symphony, a wartime work brimming with heroism and humanity. It was composed during World War II and exposes and exemplifies the brutality of those times.

Terms and Conditions

Ticket prices include VAT at 10%, but there are no handling fees.
BCN Clàssics reserves the right to modify the programming if any event beyond its control makes it necessary. If an artist is unable to offer a concert on the scheduled date, BCN Clàssics will seek a replacement for a renowned artist of international prestige. If this is not possible, an alternative date will be scheduled. The concert will only be cancelled as a last resort.
The cancellation of a concert is the only admissible reason for a refund of the amount paid for the tickets. In other cases, BCN Clàssics will not refund the amount paid for the tickets. Depending on the case, they can be exchanged for vouchers worth the same amount, which can be used for other concerts on the programme.
The listed ticket prices are indicative. BCN Clàssics reserves the right to modify the prices of certain concerts depending on the number of tickets sold.
Once a concert has begun, entry to the auditorium is not permitted.
