BCN CLÀSSICS
26/27

At BCN Clàssics we are pleased to announce the 2026-2027 edition of our classical music concert season in Barcelona, committed as always to the artistic quality that has defined the project for eleven years.

The programming consists of fifteen concerts distributed between the Auditori and the Palau de la Música Catalana, including three special ones that will feature leading conductors and soloists and internationally renowned orchestras performing works by great composers from the universal repertoire.

The Km0 series remains an essential part of the project, with four concerts where special attention is paid to local musicians, heritage recovery and new compositions.

The season will open with an exceptional concert starring Gustavo Dudamel with the New York Philharmonic, one of the world’s foremost orchestras, which will be performing in Barcelona for the first time in fifteen years. On this occasion, they will be accompanied by a key choir in Catalonia, the Orfeó Català. This choir will also appear in one of the two concerts to be given by the Staatskapelle Dresden, which will perform five symphonies by Beethoven under the baton of Daniele Gatti.

The programme will also feature other leading conductors and orchestras from the international scene, such as Semyon Bychkov with the Czech Philharmonic, the Münchner Philharmoniker conducted by Lahav Shani, and the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra with Klaus Mäkelä.

Female talent will play a prominent role this season, with the appearance of world-famous soloists such as Anne-Sophie Mutter, Sol Gabetta, Khatia Buniatishvili and Hélène Grimaud. And conductor Emmanuelle Haïm, a regular at BCN Clàssics, will once again leave her mark of the Baroque at the helm of Le Concert d’Astrée, with a performance of Handel’s Messiah.

Among the great works from the international repertoire, we must highlight Mahler's Ninth Symphony with the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse and Kazuki Yamada; Stravinsky's Firebird with the Berner Symphonieorchester and Krzysztof Urbański; Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No. 3 with Behzod Abduraimov; as well as an extensive programme devoted to Richard Strauss and Max Bruch, with Augustin Hadelich, Marc Albrecht and the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra.

You will also be able to listen to Pablo Ferrández performing with Roberto González-Monjas and the Musikkollegium Winterthur. They will be the protagonists of the tribute concert dedicated to Pau Casals to mark the 150th anniversary of the composer's birth.

The season will be rounded off by two events for all audiences: the traditional Christmas Concert, based around the love story of Romeo and Juliet, with the ADDA Simfònica Alacant and Josep Vicent; and a choral concert with the Vienna Boys Choir.

This project would not have been possible without your loyalty and support over all these years. We sincerely appreciate your participation and look forward to continuing to share many more seasons with you.
