Ludwig van Beethoven Symphony No. 5 in C minor, Op. 67
Conducted by the prestigious maestro Daniele Gatti, the Staatskapelle Dresden will hold the stage in a special series of four concerts dedicated to the complete symphonies of Ludwig van Beethoven.
On this occasion, the programme will include Symphonies Nos. 1, 4 and 5, thus providing a complete musical experience extending from Beethoven's classical beginnings to his most emblematic works.
The Fifth is one of the composer's most iconic compositions, captivating listeners from the very beginning with its famous four-note opening motif. Written between 1804 and 1808 during a period of personal and creative crisis, it reflects his struggle with deafness and the tensions that marked his life.
This tour of Beethoven's nine symphonies will be accompanied by new works by four outstanding European composers. In this case, we will be able to listen to a piece by Clara Iannotta, which adds a contemporary counterpoint.
