Khatia Buniatishvili, with a dazzling technique, intense lyricism and a wide range of nuances, makes her debut at BCN Clàssics with a programme featuring two major sonatas by Franz Schubert and Ludwig van Beethoven, and a second half entirely devoted to Franz Liszt.
The Georgian pianist gave her first concert at the age of six with the Tbilisi Chamber Orchestra and made her international breakthrough at ten. In 2008 she made her United States debut at Carnegie Hall, and since then she has performed at leading festivals around the world (BBC Proms, Salzburg, Verbier) and in major concert halls —such as the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, the Berliner Philharmonie, the Philharmonie de Paris, the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées and Teatro alla Scala— alongside the world’s most renowned conductors and orchestras.
