On May 10 and 11, we closed our 9th season with a double concert featuring Gustavo Dudamel and the London Symphony Orchestra, at the Gran Teatre del Liceu and the Palau de la Música Catalana. This season, BCN Clàssics continued to grow, with nearly 19,000 people attending our 11 concerts — a 26% increase compared to the previous year. Of these, around 4,000 were attending for the first time.

The average occupancy rate was 80%, with four sold-out events: Mozart’s Requiem with the Bach Collegium Japan and its two conductors, Masaaki and Masato Suzuki; the recital by Evgeny Kissin; and both concerts with Gustavo Dudamel and the London Symphony Orchestra. Three additional concerts also surpassed 80% ticket sales.

We continue to invest in attracting younger audiences, with over 400 individuals interested in taking advantage of reduced-rate tickets. Nearly 200 are already part of the BCN Clàssics “Espai Jove,” while 30 used the Carnet Jove discount, 50 the Quadern Cultura, 60 the Bo Cultura, and 90 booked through the Cultura Jove platform. More than 120 students from schools also attended.

BCN Clàssics is also part of the Apropa Cultura network, and during the 2025/26 season, over 190 people at risk of social exclusion were able to attend our concerts. Additionally, 60 members of community groups from Barcelona enjoyed exclusive discounts; nearly 100 people purchased group tickets (for groups of 10 or more); and around 30 used the Tr3sc platform to buy their tickets.

Residents of Barcelona continue to make up 56% of the audience at BCN Clàssics concerts — reaching up to 65% in some events — followed by 25% from the rest of Catalonia. On the other hand, the Barcelona Metropolitan Area accounts for less than 15% of attendees.

With an average age of 49, our audience shows strong representation in the 50–54 and 65–69 age brackets. Concerts like that of Midori and the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande saw attendees under 30 make up as much as 25% of the audience. Gender parity was also notable, with a 50/50 balance between men and women.

We thus wrap up our 9th season of BCN Clàssics with very positive feelings about the results achieved and the journey so far. This edition confirms our concert series as one of Barcelona’s essential cultural offerings. We’re ready to celebrate 10 years with you!
