Álvaro Lozano has established himself as one of the most promising cellists of his generation after capturing the attention of audiences and international critics at the prestigious 2026 Queen Elisabeth Cello Competition, where he was awarded Fourth Prize and the RTBF Audience Prize. His success in Brussels has given significant momentum to his career, earning critical acclaim for “an ideal blend of inspiration and mastery” and “a fascinating elemental force and interpretative intensity.”
Lozano has already performed as a soloist with ensembles including the Belgian National Orchestra, the Spanish Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra (RTVE), the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra, the Kölner Kammerorchester, the Royal Seville Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestre Royal de Chambre de Wallonie and the Málaga Philharmonic Orchestra, under conductors such as Anthony Hermus, Christoph Poppen and Shiyeon Sung.
