A season full of colours

We are pleased to present the 22/23 season of the BCN Clàssics programme, which features nine classical music concerts of the highest quality at the Palau de la Música Catalana and the Auditori in Barcelona. 

In keeping with our commitment to offering a programme of concerts in Barcelona characterized by musical and artistic excellence, the new programming for this 7th season of BCN Clàssics consists of top international orchestras, together with some of the world’s finest soloists and foremost conductors, who will perform some of the most notable accomplishments from the universal repertoire and by national composers.

A season of international stars

This season we will once again be counting on top international orchestras and soloists: the great Yo-Yo Ma will open the 22/23 season with a recital alongside Kathryn Stott, followed by Iván Fischer conducting the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra. Piano star Yuja Wang will perform with the Philharmonia Orchestra and we will also be able to enjoy the Milan Symphony Orchestra and Choir under the baton of Claus Peter Flor, the Radio Frankfurt Symphony Orchestra with Denis Kozhukhin, the guitarist Pablo Sainz Villegas with the Belgian National Orchestra conducted by Josep Vicent, the Orchestre des Champs-Élysées with Philippe Herreweghe, the I musici chamber orchestra, and the magnificent pianist Evgeni Kissin.

Great repertoires

During the 22/23 season we will be able to enjoy some of the great repertoires of the universal heritage such as Mozart's Jupiter symphony and Beethoven's Eroica, Verdi's Requiem, the Concierto de Aranjuez and Ravel's Bolero; Rachmaninoff’s Concerto No. 1, Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade and works by Tchaikovsky, Bach, Manuel de Falla, César Franck and Debussy, among many other composers.

The soloists of the season

BCN Clàssics opens the season with a concert featuring the great cellist Yo-Yo Ma, who will give a recital on October 25 with the pianist Kathryn Stott. BCN Clàssics also features the charismatic Yuja Wang, who will play with the London Philharmonia Orchestra. And following the public and critical success obtained at his latest concerts, the acclaimed pianist Evgeni Kissin will return to BCN Clàssics to appear at the Palau de la Música on 17 February 2023, with works by Bach, Mozart, Debussy and Rachmaninoff. We should also highlight the presence of the pianist Denis Kozhukhin, who will perform Ravel's Piano Concerto with the Radio Frankfurt Symphony Orchestra, and the guitarist Pablo Sainz-Villegas, who will perform the Concierto de Aranjuez with the Belgian National Orchestra under the baton of Josep Vicent.

BCN Classics Km0

Alongside the large-format BCN Clàssics programming, the 22/23 season will also include a series of small-format concerts featuring local musicians and works recovered from the local heritage. This includes a recital by the pianist Noelia Rodiles, who will perform works by Joan Magrané, David Puerto, Jesús Rueda, Raquel García Tomás and Martín Sánchez Allú.

Guitarist Feliu Gasull will star in the second concert of local music with a selection of his own works and compositions by Manuel de Falla.

The third Km0 music concert devoted to local musicians and composers will feature Héctor Parra and Imma Santacreu, who will offer a four-hand piano recital of pieces by Héctor Parra.

Km0 concerts are free for season-ticket holders.
